Pemaduncook Lake - June Grey

June Grey finds the beauty of Maine so inspiring that it has been the focus of her paintings since her professional career began. Her works have been exhibited in galleries across the U.S., Canada and Tasmania. A member of the Miniature Painter, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington D.C., June likes to work small but not exclusively in miniature.

JEAN DEIGHAN

Jean is an attorney and owner of a wealth management firm. She did not go to art school, but grew up surrounded by paintings and painters. For most of her life she spent her visual energy appreciating the art of others, a practice which she enthusiastically continues to this day. In fact, she describes herself as the woman who will never have a new kitchen because she will always buy another painting instead. That said, she picked up a paint brush ten years ago and surprised herself. She began to see her favorite places more intensely, and found herself transported to a different plane of existence as she painted those places. She paints "the way her subjects make her feel," and hopes she can thereby share some of that experience with her viewers.

DAVID HASKINS

David Haskins was born in Roswell, New Mexico. Art has been a life-long passion for David, beginning studies as a child at the Roswell Museum of Art. He earned a BS degree in Graphic Arts from Eastern New Mexico University. After working ten years as a graphic artist, David became a full time artist and studied at the Denver Art Student's League, followed by an MFA from Colorado State University.

David moved to Maine in 2005 and is currently teaching art at Husson University and Bangor High School Continuing Education. He lives in Bangor with his wife, Irene and their Welsh Corgi, Lautrec.

ANNALIESE JAKIMIDES

Annaliese Jakimides is a writer whose poetry and prose have been published in many journals, magazines, and collections, including This I Believe II, in which her essay, originally broadcast on NPR, shares space with the words of Elie Wiesel, Sister Helen Prejean, and Yo-Yo Ma, among others. Her writing has been cited in national competitions and nominated for the Pushcart Prize, most recently in 2010. Her work in mixed media is another way for her to tell the stories that shape her experience.
